Brunch at Vinegar Hill House

It was the first snow day of the season, but I wanted to go somewhere for brunch close by.  I haven’t been to Vinegar Hill House since it first opened a couple years ago.  So many of my foodie friends recommended the brunch there and today was the perfect opportunity.  I went right when it opened to avoid waiting for a table and it was super cozy inside. I really enjoyed sitting there and watching the snow fall outside the window.

I started off with super strong french pressed coffee which my body was craving.  I know a strong coffee because when I add milk I can still taste the smokiness of the roast.

For my main course I had the Pear Pancake with Pecan Butterscotch syrup.  The warm and doughy texture was so comforting the same way hot mac n’cheese is for some people.  The soft and sweet pears on the bottom were a nice complement to the syrup.

The side of bacon was smokey and sweet at the same time!

For dessert I shared the Guinness chocolate cake with my dining partner.  The cream cheese frosting was perfect, but the actual cake was a little on the dry side.
