The first company to bring industrial style and quality to the home kitchen, Viking, continues to outdo itself and its competitors by bringing ever-increasing power and precision to the home chef.
Viking’s latest masterful creation is its new Brigade series appliances, which share more qualities with Viking’s commercial appliances than any series previously created for the home.
To start, the Viking Brigade range in solid stainless steel with heavy metal knobs exudes a look of professional quality and power. Each range is built to order with the highest of standards, and customers can choose between a solid oven door or an oven door with a window. The look of the Bridage range is truly commercial-style, allowing chefs of all experience levels to re-create a 5-star kitchen right in their home.
Built for those who cook often and with a passion, the Brigade range comes standard with six burners and is available in either a 36” or 48” width. The burners are modeled after professional restaurant burners, with higher outputs and more robust burner caps. All six burners offer Viking’s trademarked VariSimmer setting for smooth, even simmering, and the SureSpark ignition system, which automatically re-ignites any burner if the flame burns out. The six burners sit atop a one-piece tooled stainless steel cooking surface.
The front three burners on the Brigade range heat up to an impressive 23,000 BTUs, a new output high for Viking. The back three burners reach up to 15,000 BTUs. The burners sit securely below heavy-duty cast iron burner grates, re-designed specifically for the Brigade range. You can also opt for true restaurant style stainless steel grates for an additional charge. With the 48” Brigade range, you get a 12” stainless steel griddle/simmer plate that features a removable drip tray for easy cleaning.
Below the astoundingly powerful and precise cooktop surface is an oven of equally impressive features. The 36” range’s stainless steel gas oven has an extra-large 5.8 cubic foot capacity, allowing the serious home chefs the option to cook with full size commercial sheet pans. This oven also comes with an impressive amount of power. The trademarked GourmetGlo infrared broiler heats up to 1,500°F, and the U-shaped baking element offers up to 30,000 BTUs of power. Viking promises precision in a variety of functions, including convection baking, natural airflow baking, infrared broiling, convection infrared broiling, dehydrating, and defrosting. The increased oven size does make the entire unit slightly deeper, a full 28” from the back of the range to the front of the door.
The versatile oven also offers six rack positions and three of Viking’s TruGlide full extension racks, allowing chefs to fully extend the rack to remove or check heavy pans without reaching precariously into the hot oven. The door is also easy to open and close because newly designed hydraulic door hinges. Visibility in the oven has also been upgraded – the Brigade oven has four halogen lights for easily viewing what you are baking.
The Viking Brigade range hoods are the perfect companion for the Brigade ranges, matching them in quality and power. Brigade hoods offer various speed controls, which homeowners can match to their needs at any particular moment. Additionally, they feature heat sensors that adjust power as cooking temperature rises, while a warm, halogen light illuminates the cooktop while you work. Viking has also made sure to match the ventilation hoods to the ranges, so they feature seamless stainless steel on the exterior and interior, making them pleasing to the eye and easy to clean. Each Brigade range hood requires a 1200 CFM internal, external or in-line blower.
Shortly after the release of the 36” and 48” Brigade ranges and companion ventilation hoods in various sizes, Viking will release Brigade companion units, including a wok, grill and griddle to accompany the ranges and bring additional flexibility to the home chef who will settle for nothing less than the power and precision of a professional kitchen.
