Gather Inspiration

The first step for any remodel is having a good idea of what you want to achieve. Take a few days to page through magazines, tour open houses, and browse the internet for kitchen photos for inspiration. Mainly, figure out what style kitchen you’re going for and what kind of kitchen cabinets you want. When you start getting those first hints of what you like and what you do not, order free samples from to view the quality of the construction and finish in person.

Determine Kitchen Measurements & Budget

Before any new cabinets, appliances, and counters can be ordered and purchased, you’ll first need to measure your space to make sure everything will fit correctly. Using our Kitchen Measurement Guide and Video, send the completed measurements to your designer.

You’ll also need to establish a budget so you know how much you can spend on each part of your kitchen. We’ve developed two tools to help you come up with a budget that works for you.

Start Your Kitchen Design

Not only do you have to work quickly, but you have to give the others involved in your project the time they need as well. After you’ve determined a budget and submitted kitchen measurements to, our kitchen designers can start designing. Depending on the complexity and size of your space, you’ll receive an initial design in 2–4 business days.

Finalize Cabinetry Design & Place Order

As stated, you have to work smartly to meet your holiday deadline. Try to finalize your kitchen design over the next seven days. designers use Internet screen-sharing technology so together you can design the cabinetry layout without having to leave your home. If you want to make a change, your designer can make it live onscreen.

Cabinetry Construction, Shipment & Delivery

When your order is placed and payment is received, please allow up to two weeks for your cabinets to be constructed followed by another two weeks for shipping and delivery.

Turn to your contractor to help coordinate delivery dates with installation.

Select Appliances, Hardware, Countertop & Lighting

During this one-month-long waiting period, you’ll need to remain dedicated to your project. Make your final product selections, including the appliances, cabinet hardware, countertop material, backsplash, lighting, paint and anything else you’ll need for your new kitchen.

Find Your General Contractor

If you do not have home construction or remodeling experience, it’s a good idea to hire a general contractor who is well versed in the process. Find a contractor who you feel comfortable working with and can accommodate your fast-approaching deadline. They’ll handle building permits, demolition and debris removal, and cabinet installation. Make sure to inform your contractor of the delivery date of your cabinets, and work with them to set delivery dates for the other kitchen materials and appliances.


If all goes to plan, your delivery dates should line up and you’ll have just enough time for the installation of your new kitchen by the holidays. Installation, along with unpacking, generally takes around two weeks. Your guests will be delighted by your great new cabinets, shiny appliances, brilliant lights, beautiful countertops, and even the fresh coat of paint on the walls.
