To Glaze, and Glaze AgainAndrew Scrivani for The New York Times

In today’s column and video, I attempt to persuade you to take a short break from your resolutions — a butterscotch-glazed cinnamon roll break, that is.

But you, careful multiplatform reader, might have noticed that the butterscotch glaze is more abundant on the rolls in the video than in the photo in the column. That’s because I accidentally poured twice as much glaze on the rolls in the video as I should have. The amount in the pot was meant for two pans of rolls, and I emptied the whole thing onto one pan.

I have to say, the rolls were sweeter than I had intended, but absolutely delicious. So if you love butterscotch glaze, you might consider doubling that part of the recipe.

Another thing to consider if you really, really want to stick to your January, eat-more-healthfully guns is to make this recipe for more nutritious, gluten-free, lower-in-sugar cinnamon rolls from Winnie Abramson’s Health Green Kitchen blog. They look healthful and tasty, a winning combination all year long.
