Tis’ the season for parties, friends and drinks. Here’s a crazy simple last minute idea to mark all those wine glasses you will be serving up over the next couple weeks.
Use a hot glue gun and mark your guests initials on the glasses. The transparent nature of the glue looks especially pretty against the bright holiday drinks, and the glue peels right off after the party is through. Mark designs, initials, even polkadots for a festive holiday bar.
Glasses don’t need to be glass to mark with hot glue. The glue, when dry, easily peels off most surfaces (just be sure to test the surface before covering your favorite mugs). My vintage copper pots fit right in with monogrammed glue initials. Fill them with a simmering berry cider to great your guests with warmth:
Make the warm berry cider using 8 oz. Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash, 2 sprigs fresh thyme, 7 cranberries and 1 lime wedge. Place the thyme springs in a medium pot and add Sierra Mist Cranberry splash. Heat to a simmer and pour over fresh berries in a mug. Spritz with fresh lime.
For a refreshing non-alcoholic version try mixing the Sierra Mist with a splash of tonic water, a squeeze of lime and top with cranberries. I’m calling it a seltzer mist- It’s a great option for non-drinkers at the holiday party and for brunch the next day.
