It’s time to announce the winner of our Sweet September giveaway! Tiffany from Courtenay, British Columbia, won with her fun story and pictures about making mini raspberry pies with her kids. We asked her what dessert product she’d like to receive as her prize, and she told us that “since the kids helped me make it, I gave them the choice and they decided on Ice Cream Sandwiches! The whole family loves ice cream sandwiches, and we have yet to try the THRIVE ice cream sandwiches. They got super excited once I mentioned it, so this is a wonderful opportunity to try something new!”
So here’s what Tiffany submitted about her experience with making a dessert with THRIVE:
“Our homeschool was hosting a BBQ for all the local homeschool families this week and we all had to bring a dish. We could bring either a side dish or a dessert, so I decided to bring both! I made a Spanish Rice with THRIVE (from the recipe on the back of the Mixed Bell Peppers can) for the side dish, and for the dessert I found an awesome recipe on a THRIVE recipe blog for Mini Chocolate Raspberry Pie! Yum! It uses the THRIVE Pancake Mix as a crust, which I have been wanting to try for a long time, so I went for it. A huge thank you to Lindsey Mote, who posted the recipe. Here is how it all went!
First: gather the ingredients. These are the THRIVE ingredients I used.
Second: gather the kids and get baking! The boys got to take turns scooping the ingredients, which they love to do, and they learned about measuring in the process!
The Bug got to mix and mix and mix!
Then I did the crusts. I was going to let the boys do it, but it was a bit stickier than I thought it would be!
Next, time to fill the cups! I love the brownie mix—just add water. So easy and yummy! One scooped the batter while the other put the raspberries in. Gotta love teamwork!
Time to lick the bowl, which is where Kiki came in to help!
All finished and ready to go into the oven.
They turned out awesome and so yummy! I added a little whipped cream and they were a hit! At the end of the BBQ there was one little lone mini pie left over, which of course I may have eaten…”

I had a party and wanted to sample oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and milk for my guests. I had planned on making cookies with the THRIVE Whole Eggs, but realized after I started that I was out of butter too! I decided to take a chance (I hadn’t used the butter from my starter kit yet) and put both THRIVE butter and eggs in the recipe. I added the butter powder and water to the bowl first and creamed it together with the sugar. Then I put the egg powder and water in with the butter /sugar mixture. They turned out wonderful and everyone LOVED them at the party!
I love that THRIVE products are so easy to use and that they can be mixed with or substituted for fresh products any time. Yay for baked goods without lots of trips to the store!
